Leonard Irwin earned a 4 year Honors Drama Degree from Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario Canada. After 7 years of study, in the summer of 2003, he briefly moved to Montreal. A family emergency called him to move back to his home town of Kingston Ontario. For the next three years Leonard worked to take care of his family in the aftermath of tragic circumstances.

In 2006 Leonard enrolled in a one year Human Resources Management Diploma program at Saint Lawrence College. In May 2007 Leonard worked for the Ontario Health Insurance Plan as a summer student. In September 2007, Leonard moved across Canada and landed in Calgary Alberta, where he currently resides.

Between 2000 and 2007 Leonard studied took multiple acting courses. He has trained at the famous Stratford Shakespeare Festival Summer Academy Program. Where he studied with some of Canada’s top Shakespearean university professors. Leonard was also the first drama student, from Queen’s University, to attend this prestigious program. He also attended the US based Shakespeare and Company’s, 20 hour weekend intensive program, in Toronto during January 2007.

Other training includes acting before the camera courses. One course was taken at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival. Leonard also took both Acting for the Camera courses, with Ottawa based, Canadian Screen Training Centre under actor Barry Blake.

Theatre credits include audition skills with Theatre Works Montreal. Voice and Movement classes under Montreal based Sabooge Theatre. He also learned Adult Acting at Theatre Five, in Kingston Ontario under Valerie Robertson.

Leonard looks forward to continue his love of acting and take some courses in Calgary during the summer of 2009.
